What is a Preferred Contractor?

$1 Million in Liability Insurance

It may not be obvious, but insurance is a priceless protective layer.  Natural disasters or injuries could complicate things.  A contractor with insurance already took steps to assure that issues can be resolved with pre-allocated funding.  Owens Corning requires a $1 Million dollar insurance policy.

Never Filed Bankruptcy

Owens Corning will never hire fly by night contractors who may do repairs after storms, when people are most vulnerable, but who subsequently disappear in the short term future.  Preferred contractors must not have filed bankruptcy because that is an indicator of a mismanaged company or a company only out to get quick business without regard to the customer after the work is done.

Installation Inspection

Owens Corning must have their experts observe a contractor firsthand to evaluate their performance.  Not all contractors pass this rigorous test.  This also involves academic training.

Texas Licensed and Bonded

Licensed and Bonded

In the State of Texas, any person can do work as a roofer.  There is no state requirement to be licensed, although some cities like Austin and San Antonio require city certification.  Because of this, there are many unlicensed roofers with little experience who may not be able to deliver on their quality promises.  Generally speaking, you should not contract with unlicensed companies. Their mistakes could put you at legal risk.  Also, you may not be able to get your money back if they do a poor job or if they don’t finish (which is a problem in Texas).  Licensed contractors have to prove they are worthy of keeping their license every year.

Since Accurate Roofing & Exteriors is licensed and bonded, they comply with every applicable rule including:

National Laws

State Construction Laws

State Certification Standards

City Ordinances

HOA Covenants & Rules

Warranty Benefits

Warranty Comparison Owens Corning

Owens Corning has the industry’s best warranties because they have the best product.

Since we’re a Preferred Contractor, you benefit because you get the entire length of the Owens Corning warranty.

During the first year, we will visit with you and perform inspections as necessary to assure that everything meets your expectations.  Also, we have a 2 year “no leak” warranty.  If there is a leak, we’ll fix it immediately at no cost to you, no questions asked.  You also get a 5 year workmanship warranty which always applies, regardless of the type of roofing you buy.  Lastly, depending on the type of roofing you choose, you may get up to 30 years of manufacturer warranty coverage.  No matter how you look at it, you will always be covered for the life of the product.

If severe weather (such as hail, hurricane, tornadoes, etc.) causes damage to your roof, call us and we’ll go make an immediate evaluation.  We’ll also meet with your insurance adjuster and perform an inspection alongside him to make sure he sees everything we see.  In most cases, severe weather will require the insurance company to pay for a complete removal and installation of an all new roof.  As soon as the new roof is finished, the warranties start all over again!

Outstanding Product Quality

Owens Corning is an extremely respected product supplier because they have a four layer system that perfectly protects your entire home.  Accurate Roofing and Exteriors uses this system exclusively because of its industry leading performance.

Total Protection Roofing System

Total Protection is more than shingle deep

It takes more than shingles to protect your home. It takes an integrated system of components and layers designed to help perform in three critical areas.

  • Seal Helps create a water-proof barrier
  • Defend Helps protect against nature’s elements
  • Breathe For balanced attic ventilation

Create a Water Proof Barrier

The Owens Corning system utilizes a variety of barriers to mitigate the damaging effects of ice damming, wind driven rains, and normal water flows.  When properly sealed, the roof will be resistant to rot and mold.

Ice & Water Barriers

Designed to protect the roof where water tends to collect, including valleys, vents, chimneys and skylights.

1-underlayments

Underlayment products are the final line of defense between the home and the elements. Underlayment products help block water from the roof deck and out of the home to help prevent rot, mold, and water damage.

Accurate Roofing & Exteriors advantage

Many roofers use low cost materials such as felt (left photo).  Cheaper materials might lead to premature failure and in the case of felt, traps moisture.  When we re-roof your house, we tear out all the old felt material and replace it with genuine Owens Corning materials which help dissipate moisture, rot, and mold.

Optimize Air Flow in the Attic

Reduces heat and moisture buildup that can lead to ice damming, roof deterioration, and mold infestation. This helps air flow through the attic to manage temperature and moisture.

3-intake ventilation

Intake Ventilation

Intake vents, which are located at the down-slope edge of the roof (eaves), allow fresh air into the attic.

3-exhaust ventilation

Exhaust Ventilation

Exhaust vents, which are located near or on the ridgeline of the roof, allow air to leave the attic.
